Na'gu'set Native Art Gallery was established to show Native American Art from local and Northeastern North American cultures and derives its name from the Mikmaq word for sun. The term Native applies to all Aboriginal peoples of North America: First Nations and Inuit. However, while there might be the occasional exhibit of Inuit art, the gallery will concentrate its efforts foremost on the rich and colorful, traditional and contemporary art of the Amerindians. Painters, photographers, sculptors (wood and stone) carvers and weavers Furthermore the gallery created
a niche for artisans and crafts people. Moccasins for toddlers and adults,
decorative items, pipes, wooden flowers and small basketry, jewelry, games
